<p>In the Indian IT industry, Nandan Nilekani is a well-known figure. He is the business partner of Narayana Murthy, who with his assistance founded Infosys, now valued at Rs 704000 crore. Infosys is one of the most valuable IT businesses in India. Like his wife, Nandan Nilekani is renowned for his generosity in addition to his brilliant intellect and economic acumen. Nandan Nilekani gave more than Rs 1890000000 last year, according to the same EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2023. <p>In addition, Nilekani is a serial investor who has invested in 12 start-ups, including Juggernaut, Fortigo, ShopX, P2SME, RailYatri, Tracxn, and others. Nilekani, who was born in Bangalore, started working at Patni Computer Systems in Mumbai in 1978, where he eventually became one of the most successful IIT Bombay graduates. Nandan Nilekani met Narayana Murthy at the IT company, where they conducted an interview. Nilekani, Murthy, and five other employees departed Patni after around three years of employment and never returned. That marked Infosys’ inception.</p>
<p>Before being appointed CEO of Infosys in March 2002, Nilekani held a number of positions within the company, including chief operating officer, president, and managing director. He oversaw the business until April 2007. The company’s revenue increased sixfold to $3 billion during his time as CEO of Infosys, and he was also granted the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian honor.</p>
<p>Then-prime minister Manmohan Singh extended an invitation to Nilekani to take up the role of chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India in 2009. The Aadhar card was first made public by Nandan Nilekani after a period of time in the cabinet. At the moment, the construction of Nilekani serves as the main identity document for almost 1 billion Indian people.</p>
