Doubles champion Haroon-Deepak wins at the veterans’ meet

<p>The Chandigarh Badminton Association, in conjunction with the Sector 42 Sports Complex, hosted the Chandigarh State Seniors (Veterans) Badminton Championship. Deepak Saxena and Haroon Rashid were victorious in the men’s 45+ doubles category, beating Deepak Jain and Sunil.</p>

<p>Saxena defeated Nikhil Cheri to win the men’s 45+ singles championship as well. Desh Raj Vohra defeated Raj Kumar Bansal to take the top spot in the men’s 75+ singles, while AK Sondhi was victorious in the 70+ final. Vohra and Subhash Nagpal took first place in the doubles final. In the 65+ doubles final, Sudhir Singla and Sunil Behal prevailed, with Kailash Prabhakar and Bharat Bhushan taking second place.</p>
<p>Prabhakar won the championship by defeating Bhushan in the singles tournament. The 65+ final was won by Rajeev Mehta and Ombir Saini against Hemraj and Sanjay Judge. Mehta won the second championship in the same age group singles competition, defeating Praveen Taneja.</p>
<p>Sargun R. Arora beat Sunita Dave in the women’s 55+ singles final, while Sargun and Mandeep Kang triumphed against Sunita Dave and Poonam Garg in the doubles competition. Deepak Dhiman and Sargun were defeated by Rajpal Singh and Mandeep Kang in the mixed doubles championship match.</p>
<p>In the 55+ doubles final, Dhiman and Jagdish Singh triumphed against Rajpal and PJ Arora, while Dhiman triumphed over Rajpal in the singles final. In the women’s 50+ category, Geeta Aggarwal triumphed against Kabita Chandra, while Rajneesh Bhatia and Geeta beat Ombir and Kabita in the mixed doubles competition. Kanwaldeep Singh was defeated by Alok Mishra in the men’s 50+ singles championship match.</p>
<p>Deepak Saxena and Lavita won the mixed doubles final by beating Haroon and Mandeep, while Geeta won the women’s 45+ singles final by defeating Mandeep Mehandiratta. Isha Gupta and Kamlesh prevailed in the women’s 40+ doubles championship match. In the women’s 40+ singles championship match, Sarda Devi triumphed against Isha, while Geeta and Jagjas Jiv won the title in the mixed doubles match by beating Rajeevan Bansal and Kamlesh. Ashish Sharma prevailed against Kundu in the men’s singles final, while Prabhat and Jagjas’ duo beat Amit Sachdeva and Naresh Kundu in the men’s doubles final.</p>
<p>Arpan and Shweta became victorious in the 35+ mixed doubles final, while Binny Bansal and Akash Sethi came in second. Mala Gabbam lost to Binny in the women’s singles championship match, while Binny and Shweta were defeated by Mala and Geeta in the doubles championship match. Men’s doubles champions Satinder Malik and Sahil prevailed, with Akash Sethi and Paras Gupta taking second place. Malik won the men’s singles championship by defeating Mohamed Munir.</p>
<p>Rajneesh and Vijayendra are chosen for a national</p>
<p>The men’s 50+ doubles champion was won by Rajneesh Bhatia, CEO of Domestic & Ecommerce at Trident Group, and Vijayendra Kumar, Principal Secretary, Government of Haryana, who defeated Gurmeet Singh and Riyaz. The city will be represented by both players in the national badminton masters competition, which takes place in Haryana the following month.</p>
