In the heavyweight fight on Friday in Riyadh, Anthony Joshua, the former world champion, referred to himself as the “postman” who would bring the win against Francis Ngannou.

On Thursday, Joshua’s weight registered at 114.48kg (18st 02lbs), whereas the opponent from Cameroon—a former heavyweight champion of the UFC—tipped the scales at almost two stone heavier.

The former Mixed Martial Arts champion Ngannou weighed in at 123.64 kg (19 st 47 lbs), which is just a little bit heavier than when he made his professional boxing debut against Tyson Fury in October.

“Authorized forecast? At the weigh-in, Joshua, 34, remarked, “I deliver; I am the postman.”

Ngannou, the emotional favorite to win Friday’s match, which has been billed “Knockout Chaos,” is three years older than his British opponent.

Before coming to France, Ngannou worked as a youngster for as little as $2 a day at a sand quarry. There, he slept out in a parking lot.

In only the third round of his fight with Fury in October, he knocked the world champion out by split decision.

“The mindset is still the same, but I get a little bit of experience from the last fight, the last camp, and leading up to this one,” he said.

“Even though I’m facing the two greatest boxers in the world, this is just my second fight.

“I am the underdog, and I’m going to show you that it’s possible to be the underdog and still hold your ground.”

The victor of Friday’s match is anticipated to eventually square off against either Oleksandr Usyk or Tyson Fury, who will square off for the undisputed heavyweight championship in Saudi Arabia on May 18.

“There are moments when I just laugh a little because we are fighting under boxing rules, but what would happen if it was an MMA “free” fight?” Ngannou was added.

“I’d smoke this dude,” None of them are allowed to enter my backyard; I am the only one who enters theirs. I would immediately grab two of them.
